History of the painting: *Day 14 of #28februaryflowers had me painting one of my all time favorite flowers- peony! The prompts where “peony” & “frame”. I have to admit “frame” had me a bit flustered. It took me a hot minute to figure out what the heck I was going to do. Let’s just say, my under painting has seen better days. I finally settled on using foliage as the “frame” and making the peony just big enough that it activates the edges or frame of the surface. I didn’t want to make a literal frame because to me flowers mean freedom to bloom, flourish, and grow! The wilder the better.
